Chambers Bay is a great story of a county committing to building something their townspeople can be proud of. The exterior concept is built around a desire for the project to be harmonious with the site and enhance the existing qualities and atmosphere found at Chambers Bay. Much like the golf course and the extensive trail system, we have nestled the buildings into the landscape, ensuring that we maintain the dramatic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains – also creating a sense of inclusion for all users: the golfer, the hotel guest as well as the parkgoer.

The design includes a hotel, a clubhouse, a restaurant, spa, an event space, golf villas, public outlook, numerous outdoor amenities, an event green, and parking. The intention of the exterior and more specifically the layout of the project is executed in a way that creates drama for all users of Chambers Bay. This drama calls upon the emotional response of moving through a series of events that reveal and conceal the powerful elements of the site. Our selection of buildings’ materials will be inspired by the natural setting, complementing the site with our use of concrete, steel and wood.
