GGLO is thrilled to be working with such a talented team for this 200-acre master plan for Sandpoint’s Downtown Waterfront. Our team is comprised of GGLO as the Urban Design + Design Lead, Bernardo Wills as the local Landscape Architect, Erin Plue as the Ecologist, Sarah Thompson Moore as an Independent Artist, and Greg Möller as the Sustainability Specialist
The City of Sandpoint selected the GGLO | Bernardo Wills team’s master plan as the winner of the Waterfront Design Competition. The master plan is based on the concept of “The Blue Necklace,” a common thread that connects the many jewels of Sandpoint.
The team collaborated for several months on the design concepts and led community outreach with local stakeholders to gather public comments. The City’s selection was based on our teams’ interpretation of community needs, responsiveness to design goals, demonstration of the team’s capabilities to complete and execute the selected design, and public comments.
Our team is advancing to Stage 3, where we will work with the City to refine our concepts and anticipate a formal adoption of the master plan in October 2023. After many months of design and collaboration, we can’t wait to make these concepts a reality for Sandpoint’s wonderful, vibrant community.
