Our sustainable design experience demonstrates that environmental, social, and economic sustainability are not only compatible, but are also mutually sustaining. More than half our firm is LEED® Accredited, and the majority of our projects are pursuing sustainability benchmarking systems, including:

  • LEED (multiple systems including LEED for Neighborhood Development)
  • Built Green™ Multi-Family and Communities
  • Enterprise Green Communities
  • Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard
  • Living Building Challenge
  • Sustainable Sites Initiative Guidelines and Performance Benchmarks

GGLO’s commitment to the 2030 Challenge is reflected in multiple aspects of our practice. Our Sustainable Design Group educates staff, peers, and clients in green building practices; our Environmental Action Plan ensures we adhere to the same ambitious standards we recommend to our clients; and we have been conducting Building Performance Evaluations since 2006.

In addition to our built work, we are continuously expanding our technical knowledge base and understanding
of the social and natural environments through research and design projects. In an effort to improve the
building industry’s environmental and health performance, we have requested product manufactures provide
transparency of building product content and associated health information through the use of a Health
Product Declaration.

GGLO’s design teams are not only skilled at integrating sustainability into designs, our architects,
landscape architects and interior designers are experienced with leading the certification efforts to
streamline the process.

GGLO has been recognized as a LEED® Proven Provider™ for the Building Design and Construction rating system
family by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).

Organizations that demonstrate and maintain high-quality project submissions through LEED Proven Provider receive significant benefits, such as greater access to a LEED reviewer and the opportunity to deliver LEED projects to clients faster.
