"This oft-overlooked, tranquil green space sports great walking/jogging trails, brand new play equipment for the kiddos, a skate park, a beautiful and historic spring-fed pond, and even an off-leash area for your pooch."
– Friends of McKinley Park
By re-thinking park circulation and elevating the primary pathway to street level GGLO created a friendlier interface between McKinley Park and its surrounding neighborhood, thereby providing for community recreational needs, addressing maintenance constraints, and curbing undesirable activities at the historic Tacoma park. Design features include community gathering areas, new play areas, restrooms, integrated skatepark elements, and culling of invasive plant species.
