Lisa Picard, SKANSKA USA

Located prominently in Downtown Bellevue, Alley 111 is a mixed-use apartment community that aims to create a pedestrian connection and neighborhood gather place among the busy downtown streets and to create an active urban ‘alley’ where residents and passersby can connect and thrive together. This unique ground floor experience draws inspiration from neighborhood alleys that highlight locally sourced restaurants and coffee houses and pubs. Transparent storefronts and weather protection expand the spaces outside into the outdoor alley areas – further engaging visitors through design. Festival lighting and landscaped, urban parklets unify the character and identity of the space.

Courtyard units look out onto green roofs. Upper level units take advantage of views out to the mountains in. The roof deck, designed as an urban oasis for residents in the middle of downtown includes an outdoor lounge, park-like pet area, and indoor-outdoor kitchen and dining elements. This amenity expands on the ground level’s design philosophy, expanding the indoor spaces outside with flexible landscaped gathering areas for entertaining or reflection.
