Jake Gilfillan

“We shape our tools and thereafter our tools shape us.” – Marshall McLuhan

Bio:

Originally from the California Central Valley, Jake has had a lifelong passion for computers and information technology. Jake worked his first IT job at 14, setting up a Sacramento home builder’s computers, phone system, and copiers at their new corporate office. While studying Computer Science at San Joaquin Delta College, he provided on-site support for agricultural and construction businesses around the Port of Stockton.  Most recently, Jake lead and developed the Help Desk for a managed IT provider in Sacramento, serving hundreds of clients in Sacramento and the California bay area.

Jake’s early IT experience has instilled in him an interest in the places that service and technology intersect.  It’s not enough to simply keep the IT systems working, they have to work for the end user.  It’s for this reason that Jake moved to Seattle to work with GGLO, a company that understands and encourages the relationship between technology, community, and design. Jake’s goal is to bring GGLO’s passion for design to the technology and systems that power it.
