"Met Market has all the functions of a large mall shoved into a grocery store sized space and I love it! It’s even lit like a romantic night in Italy. I wish I could call this place home!”

Aria S, Customer

For their first Eastside location, Metropolitan Market sought to translate the characteristics of its urban stores for a suburban context, balancing the need for efficient shopping with spaces for in-store dining and relaxation. Transforming an existing grocery store into an inviting retail destination resulted in a two-level gourmet market; a rarity in its neighborhood. Along with a local coffee shop and the company’s biggest housewares department to date, the store includes a conference room available to local residents for non-profit and civic uses. Opening day saw a turnout of over 500 customers welcoming the new store.
