“As I walked to my room, I felt safe and in awe of the lovely surroundings and art work. I passed the ‘communal living room with fireplace’ which each building of rooms has available to their guests. Room was large and looked out at the garden and wetlands. You honestly feel like you are at a beautiful resort...”

Cedarbrook Lodge is a full-service boutique hotel with 110 guest rooms and suites, meeting, banquet and fine dining spaces in a lush 18-acre setting. This state-of-the-art facility delivers high-tech programming, while fitting seamlessly into a naturalistic, residentially-scaled setting. A campus-like atmosphere, focused on the restored wetland, creates a stimulating learning environment free from distractions. A warm, casual, and comfortable interior environment encourages discussion and expression of ideas. The program includes guestrooms, meeting facilities, dining room, break out spaces, administrative offices, and service functions.

Due to the success of the Cedarbrook Lodge’s new life as a hotel and to continue to accommodate guest expectations and augment their experience, the ownership decided to expand, adding 65 additional guestrooms and a boutique spa.

Carefully responding to the aesthetic issues and site conditions allowed the design team to successfully build upon the reputation and “community” feel of the original. The original project focused on guest relaxation and on creating spaces for groups small and large to commune. For the expansion, the owners chose to include the snack bar gathering spaces, which have been so successful in promoting spontaneous interaction and creating memories.
