A co-leader of our Landscape group, Marieke is devoted to creating social and urban outdoor spaces that reflect the unique character and interests of their community and help foster a sustainable future through biophilic design. She believes the best landscapes are representative of the locale, rooted in meaning, evoke a sense of belonging, and are memorable and joyful. This is achieved through using new and conventional materials in smart ways. Marieke is the trustee for the Washington Chapter of ASLA and is active in ASLA at the national level. Internally, she chairs the committee that organizes GGLO’s community giving.
